Amongst the myriad
of actvities you can do in Vaujany, one of the most popular is cycling.
There are cycling routes in the area to suit people of all abilities -
easy tracks for those looking for a more leisurely outing, through to
routes for
the experienced cyclist for whom nothing but the toughest challenge
will suffice.
Of all the cycling challenges available, however, none comes harder
than the legendary
Tour de France, which will be
arriving in the
Vaujany area in late July.
Just completing one of the 21 stages of the Tour is an achievement in
itself. To
attempt to cycle the entire length of the Tour is a massive
undertaking, requiring months of planning, training and dedication.
Even more so, when you attempt to do this in the same time scales as
the professionals!
That's exactly what Martyn Jones, a Vaujany local, is doing to raise
funds and awareness for two extremely worthy causes:
Martyn will start 2 days ahead of the official Tour de France, and aims
to complete all 21 stages in the same timescale as the main racers. An
ambitious target, and one that shows how seriously Martyn is taking
this challenge, and how hard he has trained for it.

we should bring it to the attention of all our guests and indeed,
prospective guests.
Please do consider sponsoring Martyn - even a small donation will be
much appreciated, and will give him, and the charities he is
supporting,
the boost they so rightly deserve.
